Continued Learning with Plant Spirit Technology
A plant diet or sama are sacred spaces of isolation and fasting in which an individual communes with a specific plant for prolonged learning and healing. In these extended periods of time, the energy or spirit of the plant is woven into the energetic body of the participant to carry forward as a medicine or ally. The depth of this work requires abstinence from many foods including all oils, salt, sugar, and in some cases all food (water fasting for 3-5 days at a time). Abstinence from sex, electronics, books, and other forms of media is also necessary while the mind and body are being purified. During this deep purification, one experiences incredible and sometimes overwhelming sensitivity.
Most people receive the healing they are seeking with ayahuasca retreats, but for those who are called to continue deepening their relationships with plants, diets are a beautiful way to take this work to the next level. This path is much more disciplined than working with ayahuasca alone, and for this reason we do not accept first timers into a diet space. We highly recommend having 20 or more ayahuasca ceremonies in the Shipibo lineage as a prerequisite, however it is not mandatory to have a set amount of ceremonies before a plant diet.
It should be noted that navigating plant diet realms and post diet integration is far more challenging than ayahuasca alone. Having a couple of years worth of experience with ayahuasca alone is suggested before entering this incredible but intense world of plant spirit technology through the path of diets.

A Personally Designed Curriculum for Those Called Toward Long Term Study Under the Tutelage of the Shipibo Lineage
We intentionally start everyone new to the diet path with Piñon Colorado, an Amazonian plant for spiritual purification, physical and psychological alignment, and a mystical ally to open the realm of dieting with other plants. All of our diets include deepening the relationship with ceremonial tobacco and pipe work.
Serving as a bridge between this masterful indigenous tradition and the Western world, our facilitation team introduces each dietero to key words in the Shipibo language, an introduction into Shipibo cosmology, and how to navigate the ever changing terrain of sama.
What’s Included
This simple eco-conscious center is immersed in the rainforest and situated next to a river. The open air ceremonial space sits on a raised platform with elevated views of surrounding trees and plants. This ceremonial space also serves as a peaceful meditation zone and yoga shala during the day. Enjoy the natural symphony of the Amazon jungle, softly sway in hammocks, or swim in the gently flowing river on a hot afternoon.
