Women’s Ayahuasca Retreats
A Safe Space for Healing
While we celebrate all people looking for connection, guidance, and healing with ayahuasca, we also understand the sensitivity when uncovering pain, fear, shame, judgement, and complex traumas for women.
Intertwining Medicines offers women-only retreats which are held by a support team of female facilitators and guided by a Shipibo shaman. We recognize and honor the great need for safety and stability for women who do not feel entirely comfortable to participate in groups of mixed gendered participants. These retreats are held in a very small and intimate container of 5-10 women per retreat depending on the retreat location.
Our next women’s retreat is September 14-21, 2026 in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest, and is limited to six participants.
About This Retreat
Our Amazonian Women’s Retreat is a 7 night/8 day package with a variety of accommodations for every woman and for every budget. This eco-conscious center is enshrouded by greenery and situated next to a river. With the constant sound of water and wildlife, we are invited into deeper states of relaxation.
The open air ceremonial space sits on a raised platform with elevated views of surrounding trees and plants. This space also serves as a peaceful meditation zone and yoga shala during the day. Enjoy the natural symphony of the Amazon jungle, gently sway in hammocks, or swim in the river on a hot afternoon.
Held by a highly experienced and professional team of trauma-informed female facilitators and an indigenous master curandero, together we co-create a safe, heart centered container where compassion and sensitivity set the stage for our ceremonies. This beautiful opportunity to connect with ancient medicine in the Amazon rainforest while also connecting with other women present opens us to higher vision, lifelong friendship, and unparalleled support on the journey. Incredible magic that takes place when women gather together especially in the name of healing. There has always been a great need for women-only spaces in medicine work, and we are honored to provide exactly that.

Menstruation and Ayahuasca
There are many ayahuasca retreat centers that do not allow women to participate in ceremonies during menstruation. It is true that the energy of menstruation is strong, but exclusion does not benefit the healing process for a woman. Shipibo healers are skilled in working with this energy, and a woman can still safely drink ayahuasca during her menses and have a profound experience. All women during our retreats can fully participate in every ceremony regardless of where they are in their cycles.
Plant Treatments and Floral Baths
Our retreat guests receive a variety of treatments while under the supervision of our healer. These treatments always include a pre ceremony rinse that is meticulously prepared using medicinal plants and flowers. This botanical ritual cleans off dense energies on the body and particularly around the patient’s head.
Depending on the needs of the individual, we also have included in our programs mucura treatments for clarity and sinus issues and vomitivos for stomach cleansing.
Guided by the expertise of indigenous tradition and Shipibo shamanism, every guest is treated with the same love and care as our own family.
